Go for the aa guns by the base as well as the clumped troops there. I used the air support abilities and did some scouting missions and followed up with strafe or bombing missions on the HQ. Place your troops far enough from the tank traps so you cant be attacked, but you cover the town center. Set up sandbags with the engineers, and set up demolitions in building the Germans can enter and attack you from.

Leave one tank and the half track behind (the halftrack will allow you to reinforce squads). Next, tank trap the exits to the town, except the road on the east side of the town. I then tank trapped the entire left side, and then placed wire just inside the tank traps. Once over, I capped the fuel and ammo to the immediate left. The 4 Bar squads can hanlde any infantry and with support from a tank and the halftrack, getting control of the town is easy. I continually rocketed the buildings just over the bridge with the calliope while building up. I crossed the bridge with the shermans after everything was built and the bridge was repaired. I used 3 90mm Shermans, 1 quad Halftrack, 2 flamethrower Engineer squads, 1 mortar team, 4 BAR Squads and a sniper in addition to the calliope. Once you do that have them get some veterancy by taking out the HQ, then start clearing the map.ĭeccan- Make sure you have everything built before you repair the first bridge. Normally you’d build AT guns instead but if I remember correctly the command point limit is restrictive enough that you want to build as few other units as possible so you can have 5 or 6 Shermans out. Once you can stabilize things and get some income, you want to build lots of bunkers to cover the road and have a few MGs in key bunkers (an MG unit parked in a bunker can cover a 360 arc, not just the forward arc) to take care of infantry. Hardest part of that scenario is the start, where you don’t have a foothold and computer units are rushing you almost from the start.

If you’re talking about the Red Ball Express map, German units spawn at the top of the map throughout the game as well as being built from the HQ, and a group of Panzer 4s spawn at the start (your bonus victory condition) which makes a rush difficult. I’m also curious how easy Mission 4 is if you go straight to the enemy HQ and knock it out…
